AZ31B
AZ31 is commercial wrought magnesium alloy, offering medium strength and ductility, conferring it good forming characteristics. AZ31 contains additions of aluminum, zinc and manganese, and develops its properties without heat treatment. AZ31 is subject to strain hardening and thus is best worked hot. Partial annealing between subsequent forming operations, may prove necessary. AZ31 has good weldability and corrosion resistance.

AZ31 should be considered for applications when only moderate loads are expected. Denting resistance and EMI shielding of AZ31 is superior to Aluminum and thus is widely used for consumer electronics, textile machinery and some automotive components.
