EIektron ZW3
EIektron ZW3 is a high strength fine grained wrought alloy specifically designed for stressed components which are not normally subjected to temperatures beyond 150°C.
The excellent hot work-ability of this alloy permits fairly complex thin sections to be extruded to tight tolerances, which are usually permissible only on the softer 6XXX  Aluminums, while offering 20% higher strength to weight ration than 6061T6.This alloy does not require heat treatment and has a medium work hardening rate among magnesium alloys.
This alloy is perfectly stable in normal atmospheric conditions, but  should not be used unprotected in marine applications.
The characteristics offered by Elektron ZW3 have led to the alloy being used extensively in aerospace and other high technology areas, for such applications as aircraft wheels, gear-housings, spars, hatches and bulkheads.
